Tentative Agreement For Teachers

The union representing Ontario`s public elementary school teachers and the province reached a preliminary agreement after months of bargan work. The Ontario Secondary School Teachers` Federation (OSSTF), which represents 60,000 public secondary school teachers and education workers, said Monday that local leaders will review the agreement in the coming days before members` ratification votes are tentatively scheduled for May. “The agreed language gives members of the WTU bargaining unit the opportunity to say, `Yes, I will come back` or `No, I don`t feel safe` if they return in Term 2 to our school buildings and for school communities to visit their schools, to verify that the necessary improvements are in place before reopening,” Davis wrote in a letter to teachers Thursday night.
